PRESS RELEASE/BIOGRAPHY:
Magic Mike is a World-Class Magician from New York City. He has performed in over twenty countries, including Italy, Spain, Gibraltar, Malta, France, Mexico, Japan, Nepal, Canada, and the Philippines. He is a retired U.S. Navy Master Chief (E-9) with SOFA sponsorship and a full-time teacher for the U.S. Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DODDS) at Sullivans School in Yokosuka. He performs regularly under a MWR contract at the military clubs on Yokosuka Base, Ikego, Negishi, and Atsugi. He has done shows at the Yokohama Country & Athetic Club (YCAC), Tokyo American Club, Tokyo Hilton Hotel, and several International Schools in the Tokyo/Yokohama area. Mike has been in Japan since 2000 and is an active member of both the International Brotherhood of Magicians (I.B.M.) and the Society of American Magicians (S.A.M.) He regularly volunteers at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, entertaining patients, staff, and visitors. His shows can be tailored for any audience - Children's Birthday Parties, Office Parties, Christmas Parties, Going-Away Parties, Corporate Events, or Clubs. Balloon Animals are included in the children's show.

If you are thinking about booking me for a Children's Birthday Party, please be ready
to provide me with the following information:

The First Name and Age of the birthday child;
The Date and Time you would like to have the show;
The exact Location of the Show - for off-base residences, a Street Address including your apt./house number would be helpful.
Will the show be in a Party Room, Community Room, or Private Residence?
How many children (approximately) will be in attendance?
What is the Range of Ages (what are the ages of the children in attendance)?
How will you pay? (Cash, check, or Pay Pal)
(OFF-BASE ONLY) Is Parking available nearby so I may unload my magic materials and apparatus?

Some things for you to think about based on my many years experience with
organizing Children's Magical Birthday Parties:

The show is one-hour long, which includes a 45 minute stage magic show followed by 15 minutes of balloon making;
45 minutes of UNINTERRUPTED set-up time is needed in order for me to prepare the magic tricks before the show;
FOR SHOWS IN YOKOSUKA/IKEGO PARTY ROOMS: The Housing Office normally won't let you make a reservation more than two months in advance. Please reserve one table for my use if that is possible;

Your child will feel special in front of friends and family since I feature your child in the show on stage in many tricks. This is an excellent opportunity for you to take photographs or videos to capture this special moment;
The Birthday Child will receive a Complimentary Special Magic Gift from me;
For the comfort and viewing of the audience, it is best to arrange to have the children seated in chairs, not sitting on the floor;
It is best if the children are not eating, carrying drinks, or holding balloons/toys during the show (this is to avoid distracting the audience and increases the likelihood of that child being called to join the stage show);
Please advise me if you are planning to rent a Blow-Up/Bouncy Castle. They take up almost half of the party room and can get quite noisy during the show if it is running.
Ideally an area of 3 meters by 2 meters ( 9 ft by 6 ft) needs to be cleared for the Magic Stage Area. This does not include the area for the children to be seated comfortably;
It takes about 30 minutes to pack my belongings after the show. I normally do this while my wife/assistant makes the balloons for the children;
Ideally I need to perform with my back to a wall - not to a door or entrance way. It's a magician thing!
A slightly larger fee for long-distance travel (Yokohama, Tokyo, for instance) is charged since I am travelling by car on toll roads from Yokosuka;
